Private Psychiatrist in Copenhagen
Medical evaluation and treatment for adults. Psychologist and psychiatrist under one roof, with short wait times.
Short wait time
Alethia is a private clinic with psychologists and psychiatrists in the heart of Copenhagen, close to Nørreport Station. The clinic has two private psychiatrists affiliated: specialist psychiatrist Rasmus Wæhrens (PhD) and Martin Bergholtz, senior psychiatry resident. They handle medical evaluation and treatment for adults, both as part of ADHD and autism treatment courses and for broader adult psychiatric concerns. You can book directly online without a referral from your GP. All new clients start with a clinical interview with a psychologist before the psychiatrist takes over. We typically have short wait times.
How much does a private psychiatrist in Copenhagen cost?
At Alethia, the first psychiatrist consultation costs DKK 2,700 and runs up to 50 minutes. It includes somatic and cardiovascular screening, medication selection and an initiation plan. Follow-up consultations cost DKK 1,200 for 30 minutes. You pay per session. Healthcare services are VAT-exempt.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
We typically have short wait times. All new treatment courses start with a clinical interview with a psychologist, which you book directly in our online booking calendar without a referral. The psychiatrist consultation is then scheduled. Consultations take place at the clinic at Fiolstræde 14 or online after the first in-person visit.
What do our psychiatrists treat?
Our psychiatrists handle medical evaluation and treatment within general adult psychiatry, including medication initiation, dose optimization and ongoing psychopharmacological assessment for conditions including ADHD, ADD, anxiety and depression. We do not offer acute psychiatric care.
How does the process work?
All new clients start with a clinical interview with a psychologist (DKK 3,200). This ensures the full picture is mapped before any decisions about medication, including conditions that can resemble each other and co-occurring diagnoses that affect treatment. The psychiatrist consultation and follow-ups then proceed as needed.
