Our approach

The name Alethia comes from the Greek word for truth, αλήθεια. It reflects our fundamental belief: that clarity and understanding are the first steps toward a better life. We work from the premise that an accurate assessment is the foundation for meaningful treatment.

With us, assessment, diagnosis, and medical treatment are connected from the first consultation. You avoid being sent back and forth between different providers. Our psychologists and psychiatrists work closely together on each client, allowing us to adapt the treatment plan continuously.

We use internationally recognized diagnostic tools, including DIVA-5 for ADHD and ADOS-2 for autism. Our goal is always the most accurate assessment possible, so you receive the right treatment from the start.

Our team

Our team consists of licensed psychologists and two psychiatrists affiliated with the clinic in Copenhagen, all with experience from both public and private healthcare.

Private psychiatrist in Copenhagen

Alethia has two private psychiatrists affiliated with the clinic: specialist psychiatrist Rasmus Wæhrens and senior psychiatry resident Martin Bergholtz. They handle medical evaluation and treatment for both ADHD/autism pathways and broader adult psychiatric concerns.

What do our private psychiatrists treat?

Our psychiatrists handle medical evaluation and treatment within general adult psychiatry, including medication initiation, dose optimization, and ongoing psychopharmacological assessment. We do not offer acute psychiatric care.

How much does a private psychiatrist in Copenhagen cost?

The first psychiatric consultation costs 2,700 DKK and runs up to 50 minutes. It includes somatic and cardiovascular screening, medication selection, and an initiation plan. Follow-ups cost 1,200 DKK for 30 minutes and are used for effect monitoring, dose adjustment, medication changes, and broader psychiatric evaluation. You pay per session, no package. Sygeforsikring Danmark does not cover psychiatrist services, but a receipt is issued for any private insurance you may have.

How do I book a time with a private psychiatrist?

You book directly through our online booking calendar. No referral from your GP is needed. All new clients start with a clinical interview with a psychologist so the full picture is mapped before medication choice and psychiatric treatment. Consultations take place at the clinic at Fiolstræde 14 or online after the first in-person meeting. Wait times for first appointments are typically short.
