Short wait time — typically 2–4 weeks

Private ADHD assessment for adults in Copenhagen at Alethia typically costs 14,300 DKK and takes 3–4 weeks from first session to diagnosis. The assessment follows a structured five-step process: clinical interview and screening (2,900 DKK), diagnostic assessment with DIVA-5 (recommended by the Danish Health Authority) (3,500 DKK), feedback with epicrisis and treatment plan (3,000 DKK), medical treatment with a psychiatrist (2,500 DKK + follow-ups at 1,200 DKK), and ongoing therapy. Wait time is 2–4 weeks, and no referral is required. The clinic has a multidisciplinary team of clinical psychologists and psychiatrists under one roof, offering assessment in Danish, English, Norwegian, and Swedish.

At Alethia, we offer a structured and thorough assessment for adults. Our team of clinical psychologists and psychiatrists work closely together to ensure an accurate diagnosis and an individual treatment plan, all in one place.

Who conducts the assessment?

The assessment is conducted by clinical psychologists (Markus Lien and Felix Enghoff Klich) using DIVA-5 as the diagnostic interview, recommended by the Danish Health Authority. Medical treatment is handled by psychiatrist Rasmus Wæhrens (specialist in psychiatry, PhD) and Martin Bergholtz (senior psychiatry resident).

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly at Alethia without a referral from your GP. If you are a member of Sygeforsikring Danmark (group 1, 2, 5, 6), 25 or younger, and have a GP referral, you may be eligible for a refund on assessment and psychotherapy.

How an ADHD assessment works at Alethia

A thorough assessment is essential because concentration difficulties can stem from many different causes. 70 to 80% of everyone with ADHD has at least one other condition, such as anxiety, depression, or autism. If you only look for ADHD, you risk missing something that fundamentally changes the treatment plan. That is why we screen broadly from the first session and use DIVA-5, the diagnostic interview recommended by the Danish Health Authority, to ensure an accurate diagnosis.
